Keat Clay Pot Bah Kut Teh - Cheap & Good

 Superb !
Another venue hits the Cheap & Good List :-)
I used to be a regular here but for some reason I forgot about it until recently, I re-discover it as I was passing along Air Itam and was feeling hungry and had an urge for Bah Kut Teh.

Prior to this, the only Bah Kut Teh place I would go with no disappointment is this one
But now ... the winds have changed ...
Why ?
Because this place is Good and it is also CHEAP :-p
like much much much cheaper than the link above
The style is different but this one you can eat to your heart's content with no worry that it will blow a hole in your pocket.
Also this one is from dinner onwards till late ...

Highly recommended is the 'pin head' mushroom in a different pot.
Loads of spare parts.
Foodie's Choice
Claypot Bah Kut Teh - Spare ribs, Tongue, Pork Balls
Separately order - add mushrooms and 'fu chok'
 Guess what ...
You can add as much soup as you like and no one will scold you or give you a long face ... how cool is that ?

 Here are the co-ordinates

Best Roast Chicken In Town

Ever thought of having roast chicken and not wanting to buy the ones sold in Tesco or Giant cause the chicken is just chicken and has no taste to it.
Well, next time you feel like having roast chicken, consider this stall and Song River.
Popular for its chicken wing and chicken drumstick, Foodie is more into the whole chicken at RM14.00 and if you are super hungry, like super super hungry, you could finish the whole chicken at 1 go.
It is not very big and it's delicious.
100% roasted with charcoal fire and fresh everyday. Look closely, they even have the chicken bishop, if you are into eat.
The chicken is cooked to perfection, not too dry, just nicely moist and succulent.
However, if you want it fully cooked, just tell the friendly man and he will be more than happy to roast it a little longer for you.

If you are not so into roast chicken, there is a good variety of other foods around. For example, there is satay, po pia, bah kut teh whick is a student of the best in town
http://penangfoodie.blogspot.com/2013/01/best-bah-kut-teh-to-kick-start-new-year.html
So, don't be surprised if the soup and the style is the same :-)
Also there is a chinese 'chu char' if you want to have rice and a few dishes ...

If you ask Foodie, Foodies will just stick to the whole roast chicken and a can of Diet Coke in front of the TV with your legs up after a long days work.

If you happen to have leftovers, the roast chicken breast goes very well when you blend into a salad or pasta or even a chicken sandwich :-)

Breakfast & Lunch

This is the Best Bah Kut Teh in Penang.
Notice that I have deliberately taken the value for money rating.
Well, some say this is the most expensive Bah Kut Teh in town but I think it is worth it if you are going for the best :-)
If you think it is overpriced, try it at least once, so you know the taste.
There is a selection of other things which also taste very good .
Try the steam shark liver, not available all the time, need to ask the lady boss .
Taste like foie gras but much cheaper
Foodie's choice - just the pai kut and the knuckle
You can mix and match whatever you like
The soup is piping hot and heavenly.
For the healthy among the unhealthy, you can choose to have fried fish and green vegetables

This is bitter gourd with egg, does not look very tasty but tastes good too
