My Voice Cafe Hits The NO GO List

Maybe someone can tell me why this place is packed all the time cause I just can't seem to figure it out ...

Just for laughs ...

Anyway there Foodie heard of the recent crowding at My Voice @ Bay Avenue and decided to check it out.  

This mango fusion roll was recommended by the very enthusiastic waiter.  Unfortunately it was a disaster, tasted neither savoury nor dessert like.  The rice was not properly cooked and chilli flakes on some sweet mango sauce ??? Fusion??? No thanks, worst roll ever, two words, Don't Order !

So we ordered the all famous ramen supposedly comes in a huge bowl.

Besides the gimmick of eating from a really huge bowl ... Really ...

Nothing great ... 

Jelly like dessert with ice cream so-so.

Ok let's talk about these flower tea

What ??? Tea ??? Huh ??? Where ???

OMG !!! Unlimited refill but it's so blend even with refill No. 1 :-(

We also had the gyoza but it was soggy and nothing great, really.

Enough said ... 

First and last visit for Foodie

Money not well spent ...

Why is Harvest Inn On The NO GO List ???

 The food is ok with good presentation ...

The price is reasonable ...

The service is fast fast fast ...

Very Bad Ambience

It is always noisy here.  You can't even here yourself what more the person you are dining with.

If you wanna come here for a quick lunch then yes, this is the place, fast in, fast out, best you come alone so you don't need to shout and strain to listen.

 You just feel pressured to LEAVE ...

Well they may not say it right at your face but before you finish your meal, your friend's plate has been cleared, they have already wiped off the crumb your friend left on the table.

Woosh ... woosh ... woosh ...

Long black is OK but the milk is COLD !

Cappuccino SUCK ! BIG TIME !

Don't believe ? Go try it.

 Your car gets BLOCKED !

Well it is not a big thing if the customers double park, right ?

But if you tell the waitress and she tells you ... "er ... just HONK and the owner will come out"

then it is not very nice to make annoying noises when others are having their meal.

Here is the BEST part.

YOU Have To Pay For SUCK Coffee !

This one is the last straw ...

So we sent back the coffee and they come back saying, our cappuccino tastes like that.

How bout you choose another type of coffee.

So we chose another long black.

And waiter said WHAT !!!

Even though you choose long black, we still have to charge you cappuccino price!!!

Ok, it is only RM 1 difference so we decided making a fuss is just a waste of time.

POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Would have made hell of a difference if the waiter said ...

"So sorry, for the inconvenience, please choose another coffee from our menu, it would be on the house, have a nice day (smile, smile)

Wake up ! I was just dreaming :-p

So in summary, 

Noisy-Rush-Suck Cappuccino-Poor Customer Service

This is why Harvest Inn is on the NO GO list.

Well, all said, the choice is yours.

Palace of the Golden Horses - My Goodness

Palace of the Golden Horses

Wow what a prestigious name.

So looking forward to the trip ... Err ... Maybe not ....

Let's check out the room .... 

Look at this bath tub, yup the outlet has been blocked ...

Look closer ... The hand held shower is missing ! 

Still in the bathroom check out the cracks with stain just below the bidet.

Carpet in the room is filthy ...

Not to mention also there is plaster falling off the ceiling every time you shut the door :-(

Nice view but it's deceiving

This little pool of water with wires everywhere is definitely a hazard to children

For a hotel promoting it's wellness centre, the gym is outrageously in a desperate need for a face lift and addition of equipment.  This is the one and only treadmill here and look closely, the hand bars are rusty.

Another hazard pool filled with moss, well at least they put a sign here so they won't be responsible if anything happens to you.

In summary, the only good point is Internet is free

Bad points - definitely not 6 stars

No room slippers

Bath tub with no shower handle

Filthy room

Below standard quality gym - real joke only 1 rusting treadmill 

Please don't talk about the breakfast

Newspaper ? Please book it otherwise none for you

Puddles of water with moss in it everywhere

Well, it's up to you to decide, but as for me ...

No more Palace for me ... bye bye

Fusion Gone Wrong - House of Udang Galah

 The name sounds really high end and so is the venue.

Unfortunately, the food is not great.

To be direct, it's lousy :-(

Foodie has decided to check this place out, since there has been much mentioned of it.

If you are travelling on your own and would like to come here for dinner, please be careful, it is pretty dark and quiet and may not be that safe at dawn.

Right, let's get back to the food ...

 we got the set meal ... and you would imagine for the grandeur of it's name everything would be featuring the tiger prawns ie udang galah ... nope ...

it is mainly Chinese dishes ... Chinese dishes and more Chinese dishes ... 

 a very typical 4 season platter err.. look closely ... siu mai ???

 half filled bowl of soup which is half cooled as well cause they were short of waiters ...

never mind ...

 here's where the fusion food starts going wrong ...

look closely, yes, nice fresh garoupa ... steamed with 'kei chi' and 'dong gui' ???

nothing beats a simply steamed fresh garoupa I stress ... just simply steam it - timing is the key.

So this fish tasted funny, not to mentioned it was over done ... what a waste ...

 more Chinese dishes ... over cooked chicken

portions are very large but not very tasty ...

 then comes the Udang Galah ... steamed Thai style ... plenty of sugar ... a lot of lime and chilli ...

why ??? masking of the unfreshness of the prawns ...

sorry folks ... this is a major let down ...

the long awaited udang galah ... the dish of the day ...

is a major major major disappointed :-(

 we end with the 'sugar fried noodles' ...

super sweet

once again huge portion but ...

 Nice seating area upstairs and downstairs ...

Ah ... one more thing before we end ...

Mr Skinny manager was not a good combi to the fusion gone wrong ...

no smile, service is never pleasant with a grouchy manager ...

 Therefore, this place has been rated a NO GO by Foodie's standards

Sorry guys ... the food is just all wrong ...
