Don't Order Steak Here, Just Sausage Salad & Beer

After so many Chinese venues over Chinese New Year, here is a German one for a change .
None other than Ingolf at Tanjung Bungah.
For details, here is the link
http://ingolfskneipe.com/home

Nice place, superb ambience.
Lunch and dinner is as good.
Mediterranean Salad is Excellent.
Price is reasonable.
Service is ok, but if you are Caucasian, you get better service (this is only Foodie's perception, you may disagree :-p)

Beers are good and reasonably priced.
Whatever you do, whatever you order, just DON'T, DON'T NEVER, NEVER EVER order Steak here ...
YOU WILL REGRET FOR LIFE
cause it will be screwed up unless you like your steak well done ...
 enough said ...
happy trying ...

Ocean Green Seafood Restaurant

Saving the best for last ... as the Feasting Chinese New Year Season for 2013 is coming to an end ... I bring you Ocean Green
A well established seafood restaurant with great local ambience, fresh seafood, friendly atmosphere this is a place that is absolutely loved by tourist and also the locals :-)
Come a little early, just before sunset and you will see this spectacular view as you sip on your wine deciding what to order.
Sometimes you may catch a group of people on their excursion taking snaps of their wedding photos.

Ok, lets get on with the food.
Fresh prawns, as they are, super yummy.
They satay here is unique, the sauce is already on it RM 1.00 per stick

Cheese crab is a MUST order
Fried oyster with egg - oh chean in Hokkien
Spicy style fish, come with Bee Hoon, you also have a choice of steam fish if you do not like spicy.  Also a large variety of other fishes if this is not your style.
Crabs are fresh and a choice of many ways on how you want them cooked.

Something refreshing and not so heavy the Kerabu Tang Hoon is a lovely combination with all the heavy seafood.
This one is an original ... rarely served elsewhere ... a tapioca dessert, another MUST try

This is THE MAN to look for, Desmond, super friendly and he will help you in making your choices for a delicious evening meal ... just let him know what you want.
So far, most reviews of this place is superb.

Hainan Cuisine @ Batu Ferringhi

And the feast continues ...
Located at Batu Ferringhi, a beautiful tourist spot, this is the place to go for Hainan food and fresh seafood.  This place used to be located at the Medan Selera at Baru Ferringhi, now it has moved to a better venue just next to Tarbush.

Spring roll is excellent and not too oily, crunchy and fresh

Fried belacan chicken a little on the dry side

This is a MUST order ... the Hokkien Char is super yummy
Also Foodie's Recommendation - Asam Curry Fish
Try the Pakistani Tea as a drink after dinner ... too sweet so ask for less sugar
Owner Mr Lim is very friendly.
Here is the location ...
Go before sunset you may catch a scenic view before dinner

And if you are lucky on Chinese New Year ... even Lion Dance on the house !
This is a sign of 'muhibbah' in the country... Different races involved in the Lion Dance industry :-)

This is the highly recommended fish curry ... a MUST
Sorry the photo does not look very appetizing but you have to try it to give it justice

Nothing Beats the Home Steamboat for CNY

As a continuation of the Chinese New Year eating marathon, not to be missed is the ever popular home steamboat.
This post has no recommendations.
It is a gesture to ask everyone out there to have a good reunion and do not lose out on the home steamboat that is not only super tasty but also enhances family ties and friendships.

Lots of balls, fresh prawns, fish maw, fresh fish, chicken and pork , marinated or not will do very will with the best of company ...
Never forget the chillis and the home made garlic oil

super scallops - a real treat
This could be a Valentine's Day dinner with your loved ones too :-)

Happy Valentine's Day
