Christmas being just round the corner, let's take a trip to St Anne's church at Bukit Mertajam :-)

 After a visit at the church, on the way back, you could stop by the road for a refreshing coconut water ... and if you are hungry could have a try at the Mee Kuah too ...

Nearby there are other stalls selling char koay teow and rojak as well.

Of course a trip to Bukit Mertajam is never complete without having Steamboat Dinner @ Restaurant Hooi Kee ... recent visit there, it is still the best and it's cheap & good !

If you are working in the mainland or living there, then I guess you can go there any day.   But for me,  weekend will be the best to beat the jam.  Start your journey around 6pm, arrive at 630 to 7pm when there is no crowd yet and enjoy ...
You get to choose from a choice of 3 soup bases clear soup, tomyam or yam soup

Pork balls and fish balls all taste good.
Fish and crabs are all fresh, fresh, fresh.
Really good value for money. 

All these is the RM 100 set, check out the crabs with roe

 

Free flow of garlic oil, chilli sauce and little chillis

This is a teow chiu delicacy, side order made of brown sugar and yam.
Must order !  The meal is not complete without it.
