Baa Baa Black Sheep @ Tanjung Bungah

If you are a coffee person or looking for a place to relax and chit chat with a couple of friends, this is the place to be.  Many coffee outlets mushrooming in old Georgetown, here's one you can visit in Tanjung Bungah opposite the Copthorne Hotel.
Coffee and ice blended drinks are pretty standard.  Just one thing with the long black the little milk that comes with it is not warm ... Fussy Foodie, yes, minor point :-)

Very friendly and accommodating staff, young girls, service with a smile at all times, how pleasant ...
Menu is short and sweet, tried the waffle, base was nice and crispy.

Free wifi good for tourist, there were plenty of tourists when we were there.  Nice ambience, air con nice and cool for a hot afternoon.

Looking for a place to chill, this one is not too bad, have a visit this weekend :-)
Closed on Mondays folks.

Air Itam - The Ultimate Street Food Haven !

I have not visited Air Itam for a long, long time and to my utter surprise this is the utmost gem of Penang for street food.
Made me wonder why I have neglected this precious part of Penang ...
Well, I am back.
First of all, Air Itam houses
The Best Curry Mee !
Kindly take note that the stall is at the market and it only starts from 1pm till it finished at around 5pm.
So, please make sure you get the time right otherwise you will be utterly disappointed.
To prove a point, I am not a curry mee fan and I ended up having 2 bowls.
If there is going to be 1 phrase to describe this, it will be
Heaven On Earth :-)
Yup it is indeed that yummy !
2nd bowl - add peppermint leaves
Regular bowl RM3.50, Large RM 4.00
Service is super efficient
Very reasonably priced

So we come to the all famous Asam Laksa of Air Itam
What I would like to suggest to you is to try the 'Deaf and Dumb Laksa' stall opposite the all famous one.
In my opinion, this one is better than the all famous one.
However, if you are there late evening, only the all famous one is opened.
The old feel of Penang is still very strong here.
Especially in the morning you still see loads of uncles and aunties bargaining over their goodies.
The ambience is so 'Penang' and you have the beauty of Kek Lok Si as a background.
And there is still plenty of greens as backdrop.
Wonderful ... highly recommend to tourist far and near :-)
Durian season is here too ....
You may also try the pan mee which is rather yummy.
Also the Koay Teow Thing aunty team
Two friendly old ladies ...
Food at Air Itam is still pretty reasonably priced.
There are loads more of yummy street food here.
One visit to this ultimate venue is not enough even if you have 3 meals here a day.
If you have not been here for some time, I highly recommend you to.
I was pleasantly surprised and since the last visit, I have gone back 3 times already.

This place must have gotten something right.
It has been here for decades.
And I remember as a kid I followed my parents here for breakfast.

Not surprising ... at 730am ... this place is packed with people ...
Well, if you are not a dim sum person, you can start ordering dishes from 11.30 am onwards.

Keeping up with the Jones' ...
A recent TVB series was highlighting the yummy salted fish buns and there you go, De Tai Tong is selling it.  This is a new 'bun on the block' and you have got to try it.
Sitting here from 7am onward till almost 9am, there is always a customer at the queue waiting to be served one of these yummy buns.

Well, loads to choose from.
But as for me, why am I here so early on a Saturday afternoon.
This is a MUST try if you come here for Dim Sum.
The all time favourite, Century Egg Pork Porridge :-)
For me, it is the reminiscence of my childhood.
Happy Dim Sum-ming Folks !!!

This is a popular coffee shop with Koay Teow Thing cooked bowl per bowl.
Introduced by a fellow Foodie ...
Lots of combination here for you to pick and choose :-)

And if you are not a Koay Teow Thing fan there are plenty of other options to choose from.

Kopi O here is so ... so ...

Another place for Koay Teow Thing :-) for all you Koay Teow Thing lovers out there ...
