Keat Clay Pot Bah Kut Teh - Cheap & Good

 Superb !
Another venue hits the Cheap & Good List :-)
I used to be a regular here but for some reason I forgot about it until recently, I re-discover it as I was passing along Air Itam and was feeling hungry and had an urge for Bah Kut Teh.

Prior to this, the only Bah Kut Teh place I would go with no disappointment is this one
But now ... the winds have changed ...
Why ?
Because this place is Good and it is also CHEAP :-p
like much much much cheaper than the link above
The style is different but this one you can eat to your heart's content with no worry that it will blow a hole in your pocket.
Also this one is from dinner onwards till late ...

Highly recommended is the 'pin head' mushroom in a different pot.
Loads of spare parts.
Foodie's Choice
Claypot Bah Kut Teh - Spare ribs, Tongue, Pork Balls
Separately order - add mushrooms and 'fu chok'
 Guess what ...
You can add as much soup as you like and no one will scold you or give you a long face ... how cool is that ?

 Here are the co-ordinates

Only In Penang - Freshly Made Fish Ball

How often do you see this in Penang ?
This is true Penang Heritage.
I remember speaking to a stranger the difference between Penang and Malacca .
This if I may say is the difference.
It is not just the food ...
It is in the midst of looking for the best Hokkien Mee or Char Koay Teow, along the way, we bump into the real heritage of Penang...
It is not at all made up, it is the everyday living of simple people making an honest living,
this itself is culture ... heritage ... ambience
Right next to I Mum Mum Pan Mee - will be featured in next post is this fish ball stall.
Just check out the fresh fish that has just arrived for the making of the fish balls.

If you are a tourist passing by and would like to see how fish balls are made right from scratch,
this will be a good venue.
And guess what ... there will be no other tourists disturbing you ...

296, PDC Flats, Pengkalan Weld, 10300 Penang
Very  simply a 3 person show.
2 ladies working on the fish balls and 1 guy on the delivery.
They sell 4 types of raw balls here.
Foodie's Favorite is the the Mini Fish Ball
Next time you have a steamboat at home, why not have Pan Mee for breakfast or lunch and then pop-in next door to buy the freshly home made balls :-)

This one sure hits the Cheap and Good List !
Isn't it amazing to know that the busy banking area is just 15 minutes away, right in the heart of town ... life simply goes on ... in such a simple manner ...
Only in Penang !
