Still in the mood for Chinese food ? How about May Garden ?

If you are an old timer, you will remember the best suckling pig is from May Garden.
Not sure if this has changed.
But if you are looking for a good suckling pig meal, this place will never let you down.

Here is also one of the rare restaurants in Penang which serves roast on a normal day.
And they do it pretty well too.

Tried this menu sometime back ...
Nothing to complain.
Plenty for everyone.
Again with festive season now, advance booking necessary.
Prices may have gone up though.

Happy Chap Goh Meh !!!

Hill Park Roast Chicken Rice, Anybody ?

If you live at around Tanjung Bungah and you run out of lunch venues on a weekend, and you don't feel like going out or you are recovering from a Friday hangover, here is the place to 'ta pao' your comfort food.
Hill Park roasted chicken rice is situated at Jalan Lembah Permai, run by a female mummy, weekends, you can see her children helping her out.

So, what are the specialties here ...
Roast Chicken
Roast Pork
Tau Kua in Soya Sauce (must order)
Spare parts - chicken gizzard and heart
Soup of the day (on the house)
 Reasonably priced
Best part is lady boss, although busy is very friendly and accommodating, so you can request for the lean part of the roast pork, request for soup, gravy etc etc etc ...
At 1pm, it gets super busy, by 1:30pm everything is gone, so best time to go is just before 12 noon

Best Roast Chicken In Town

Ever thought of having roast chicken and not wanting to buy the ones sold in Tesco or Giant cause the chicken is just chicken and has no taste to it.
Well, next time you feel like having roast chicken, consider this stall and Song River.
Popular for its chicken wing and chicken drumstick, Foodie is more into the whole chicken at RM14.00 and if you are super hungry, like super super hungry, you could finish the whole chicken at 1 go.
It is not very big and it's delicious.
100% roasted with charcoal fire and fresh everyday. Look closely, they even have the chicken bishop, if you are into eat.
The chicken is cooked to perfection, not too dry, just nicely moist and succulent.
However, if you want it fully cooked, just tell the friendly man and he will be more than happy to roast it a little longer for you.

If you are not so into roast chicken, there is a good variety of other foods around. For example, there is satay, po pia, bah kut teh whick is a student of the best in town

So, don't be surprised if the soup and the style is the same :-)
Also there is a chinese 'chu char' if you want to have rice and a few dishes ...

If you ask Foodie, Foodies will just stick to the whole roast chicken and a can of Diet Coke in front of the TV with your legs up after a long days work.

If you happen to have leftovers, the roast chicken breast goes very well when you blend into a salad or pasta or even a chicken sandwich :-)
