Somewhere Classy For Christmas ???

Loads of budding cafes and restaurants has appeared over the past few months ...

I would like to bring you back in time ... reminiscing our good old Equatorial Hotel.
While the hype continues along the tourist belt of Tanjung Bungah, let us not forget The View.

It's semi buffet style where you can linger freely choosing your starters and appetisers.
Choice of soup, fresh oysters, salads and sashimi ...
Not forgetting its all time favourite smoked salmon.
Credit given that for a buffet style in Penang, there is always enough helping for everyone.
Choice of dressing and sauces to go with your meal
Sorbet served before your main course
Nicely done steak - nothing to complain about.
Do make sure you don't over do on the buffet spread, not leaving any space for the main course.
Not a very classy thing to do but I suggest you go easy on the buffet spread ... have the main course and if you feel like another round of the spread ... why not ?
Dessert people ... leave some space for the sweets ...
Your are game for a romantic Christmas dinner ... live music as you dine :-)

Merry Christmas Foodie Fans
&
A Happy 2015 New Year !!!

Best Indonesian Prawn In Claypot @ Double Good

This one is a local favourite among those who live in the area.
Hidden somewhere in Taman Bukit Jambul ... google maps will show you.
Very simple decor inside.
They actually have 2 shops on the same row, don't worry about getting into the wrong one, cause same owners :-) both are the same.

The MUST order here is the ...
Indonesian Prawn in Claypot

This dish can be eaten on its own with plates and plates of rice just with the gravy.
Yup, you heard me right.
Even if you are not a rice person.
It is so rich with flavours and I believe loads of santan, but once in a blue moon guess it is alright to indulge :-p

Then we have veggies and salad yew char koay.
All taste good.
I am sure they have lots of other yummy dishes but there were only 2 of us.

 Price is pretty affordable.
Lots of middle income with young kids come here.

The thing that impresses me most is the super efficient service.
If you are in a rush somewhere or very hungry, this is the place to go.
Food is served very fast.

Hope you like this local delight.
Best time to go is on a weekday just before dinner time.
Enjoy ... Bon Apetite ...
