Ferringhi Garden - Perfect Ambience

Guess this is the place to impress :-p
So, when it comes to impressing, money will need to be spent.
 Food is good.
Service a so - so ...
They have reverted to hiring foreign workers so there are communication issues.
Try hard enough, you will get want you want.
If you are a tourist and you are strolling along Batu Ferringhi and you don't feel like Chinese food and you feel like pampering yourself ... this is the place to be ...
Rumor has it that they have a most reasonable wine list, so why not ?

Lamb was overdone, like most places in Penang :-(
So if you want it medium, the trick is to order medium rare.

 Dessert was flawless ...
For a non-dessert person, this Creme Brulee was exceptional :-)
Do order.

 Ambience as mentioned - perfect.
Good for scoring points whether it is with a romantic partner, business partners, future-in-laws etc etc ...
Look around you, everything is very in sync with nature.
The wood they use to build up the extensions are high grade stuff.
Nice to just walk around and see how they recycle nature with a tinge of finesse.
Bon Apetite !

Fusion Gone Wrong - House of Udang Galah

The name sounds really high end and so is the venue.
Unfortunately, the food is not great.
To be direct, it's lousy :-(
Foodie has decided to check this place out, since there has been much mentioned of it.
If you are travelling on your own and would like to come here for dinner, please be careful, it is pretty dark and quiet and may not be that safe at dawn.
Right, let's get back to the food ...
we got the set meal ... and you would imagine for the grandeur of it's name everything would be featuring the tiger prawns ie udang galah ... nope ...
it is mainly Chinese dishes ... Chinese dishes and more Chinese dishes ...
a very typical 4 season platter err.. look closely ... siu mai ???
half filled bowl of soup which is half cooled as well cause they were short of waiters ...
never mind ...
here's where the fusion food starts going wrong ...
look closely, yes, nice fresh garoupa ... steamed with 'kei chi' and 'dong gui' ???
nothing beats a simply steamed fresh garoupa I stress ... just simply steam it - timing is the key.
So this fish tasted funny, not to mentioned it was over done ... what a waste ...
more Chinese dishes ... over cooked chicken
portions are very large but not very tasty ...

then comes the Udang Galah ... steamed Thai style ... plenty of sugar ... a lot of lime and chilli ...
why ??? masking of the unfreshness of the prawns ...
sorry folks ... this is a major let down ...
the long awaited udang galah ... the dish of the day ...
is a major major major disappointed :-(

we end with the 'sugar fried noodles' ...
super sweet
once again huge portion but ...

Nice seating area upstairs and downstairs ...
Ah ... one more thing before we end ...
Mr Skinny manager was not a good combi to the fusion gone wrong ...
no smile, service is never pleasant with a grouchy manager ...
Therefore, this place has been rated a NO GO by Foodie's standards
Sorry guys ... the food is just all wrong ...

Nooodles LCCT - Absolutely NO GO !

 Chic herb noodles ...
Ok warning ... what is it in LCCT that is good ?
Don't even talk about the price.
Nope, I have not finished the soup in the bowl, I have just put the piece of drum stick with the logo.
The chicken drum stick is hard as rock, can't eat it.
 How was the porridge ?
Big bowl ... err ... where is the porridge ???
Anyway, if you happen to be at LCCT and is considering Nooodles, please don't waste your time ..
Eat something else.
My 1st trying this outlet, I am not sure bout the ones elsewhere.
Maybe someone can tell me ...

Yean Yean @ Tanjung Bungah - Cheap and Good

If you wish to have a regular place for home cooked food and don't want a hole in your pocket, this is the best place to be.
I would rank this as the Best Chu Char in Tanjung Bungah area with very reasonable charges.
Most of the dishes here are good.

 Selection is vast.
You can choose from the simple steam egg to the braised pork leg.

If you are in for a healthy choice, you can choose from a wide selection of vegetables and also you can have steam fish or curry fish.

For those who want to have some alcohol with you food, you can BYO :-)
And the prawn rolls go very well with your drinks...

With so many beautiful pictures, there really is little to say ...
A picture paints a thousand words, so if you are at this part of town, wish to have something simple, this is the place to be ...
